The Serrapeptase enzyme is a proteolytic enzyme
isolated from a micro-organism. This enzyme is naturally present in the
intestine of the silkworm and it is processed commercially today through
fermentation of plant grown enzymes that are suitable for vegetarians. This
immunologically active serrapeptase enzyme is completely connected to the alpha
2 macroglobulin in biological fluids. Histologic studies reveal powerful
anti-inflammatory effects of this naturally occurring enzyme.
